Immunoglobulins are secreted by B cells into the serum of vertebrates and function primarily to fight infection and are regulated by the adaptive immune response. There are five main classes of immunoglobulins: IgA, IgD, IgE, IgG, and IgM. Other classes include IgY found in egg yolks of birds. A single-chain antibody, lacking a light chain is found in camelid species. Rockland offers highly purified native immunoglobulin proteins from various species in conjugated and non-conjugated forms. Rockland also produces antibody fragments that are generated by partial digestion of IgG or IgM with specific proteases.
