Background

Desmoplakin pS2849 is high molecular weight protein of desmosomes. It is a member of the plakin or cytolinker family and is involved in the organization of the desmosomal cadherin-plakoglobin complexes into plasma membrane domains in the anchoring of intermediate filaments to the desmosomes. The phosphorylation theoretically affects its association with epidermal, simple cytokeratins and VIM intermediate filaments. Defects in DSP are the cause of keratosis palmoplantaris striata II, Carvajal syndrome, and arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy 8. Anti-Desmoplakin pS2849 Antibody is ideal for researchers interested in Cell Structure research.

Conjugated Peptide
Anti-Desmoplakin pS2849 affinity purified antibody was prepared from whole rabbit serum produced by repeated immunizations with a synthetic peptide near the C-terminus of human Desmoplakin protein.
Anti-Desmoplakin pS2849 was affinity purified from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity chromatography and is directed against the phosphorylated form of the S2849 human residue. A BLAST analysis was used to suggest cross-reactivity with mouse and human based on 100% sequence homology. Cross-reactivity with Desmoplakin pS2849 from other sources has not been determined.

Application Details

ELISA, WB
Anti-Desmoplakin pS2849 antibody tested in ELISA and western blot and is useful for Immunohistochemistry. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user. Expect a band approximately ~331kDa corresponding to the appropriate cell lysate or extract.
