Background

Retinoblastoma-Associated Protein (130 KDa) is a key regulator of entry into cell division. p130 is directly involved in heterochromatin formation by maintaining overall chromatin structure and, in particular, that of constitutive heterochromatin by stabilizing histone methylation. It recruits and targets histone methyltransferases KMT5B and KMT5C, leading to epigenetic transcriptional repression and controls histone H4 'Lys-20' trimethylation. Probably acts as a transcription repressor by recruiting chromatin-modifying enzymes to promoters and is a potent inhibitor of E2F-mediated trans-activation, associates preferentially with E2F5. It binds to cyclins A and E, as well as, binds to and may be involved in the transforming capacity of the adenovirus E1A protein. p130 may act as a tumor suppressor. Anti-p130 Antibody may be useful for researchers interested in Adipogenesis, Retinoblastoma, and Retinal Cancer.

Human
Conjugated Peptide
Anti-p130 antibody was prepared from whole rabbit serum produced by repeated immunizations with a synthetic peptide corresponding to a C-terminal portion of human Retinoblastoma-like protein 2 conjugated to Keyhole Limpet Hemocyanin (KLH).
This affinity purified antibody is directed against human Retinoblastoma-like protein 2.  This product was affinity purified from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity purification.  A BLAST analysis was used to suggest cross-reactivity with the antigen based on 100% homology with the immunizing sequence to rat, human, and mouse.

Application Details

ELISA, WB
Anti-p130 Antibody has been tested in ELISA and WB.  Expect bands ~128.4 kDa in western blot using appropriate tissues or lysates.  Positive control used: MOLT-4 lysate in western blot.
