Description

Background

Biotin is a small biomolecule important for many cellular processes. Most importantly for biotechnology applications, biotin is ammenable to conjugation to proteins for use in biochemical assays. Biotin has a very strong affinity for avidin and streptavidin; an attraction that is the strongest and most stable non-covalent interaction known. Biotin Alkaline Phosphatase Conjugated is ideal for investigators in Immunology, Cancer, Neuroscience, and Cell Biology.

Application Note

Biotin Alkaline Phosphatase Conjugated has been tested by ELISA and dot blot and can be utilized in ELISA and Western Blotting experiments where the assay's target of interest is coupled with streptavidin.

Purity/Specificity

This product was prepared from electrophoretically pure Alkaline Phosphatase and Biotin.  Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Alkaline Phosphatase (calf intestine) and anti-Biotin.

Storage Condition

Store vial at 4° C before opening. DO NOT FREEZE. This product is stable at 4° C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Freezing alkaline phosphatase conjugates will result in a substantial loss of enzymatic activity.
