Description

Background

Tris-Phosphate-EDTA (TPE) is a commonly used buffer solution in molecular biology, especially for gel electrophoresis and gene expression studies. The purpose of TPE buffer is to solubilize DNA or RNA, while protecting it from degradation.

Application Note

This product is a 10X concentrated stock solution and should be diluted appropriately with distilled, deionized water or equivalent to its final working concentration. 10X Tris-Phosphate EDTA (TPE) consists of 0.9 M Tris-Phosphate, 0.02 M EDTA at a pH of 8.0.  Meticulously prepared using ultra pure reagents dissolved in highly polished pharmaceutical grade deionized water.

Purity/Specificity

This product was aseptically filtered through a Millipore 0.22 micron filter into clean, pre-sterilized containers. The product was tested on trypticase soy agar for 24 hours, 48 hours and 72 hours and was found to be negative for bacteria.

Storage Condition

Store container at room temperature (18° to 26° C) prior to opening.
