Description
Background
ERK2 pT185-pY187 activated recombinant protein was produced in Sf9 cells. Mitogen activated protein kinase 1, also known as MAPK1, ERK, or ERK2, is an integral component of the MAP kinase cascade that regulates cell growth and differentiation. This pathway also plays a key role in synaptic plasticity in the brain. This recombinant protein is the activated ERK1 isoform and is ideal for investigators involved in Neuroscience, Cell Signaling and Cancer Research.
Application Note
ERK2 pT185-pY187 is an activated recombinant protein suitable as a control for polyclonal or monoclonal anti-ERK in immunological assays. ERK2 can be activated by in vitro phosphorylation by MEK proteins. For western blot use at 50 ng or less. For other assays concentration is user optimized.
Purity/Specificity
ERK2 pT185-pY187 is a recombinant protein containing a polyhistidine tag expressed in Sf9. ERK2 was phosphorylated in vitro using the activated MEK. Analysis by SDS-PAGE resulted in a pattern consistent with purified ERK2 and was estimated to be greater than 90% pure.
