Background

TRPs, mammalian homologs of the Drosophila transient receptor potential (trp) protein, are ion channels that are thought to mediate capacitative calcium entry into the cell. TRP-PLIK is a protein that is both an ion channel and a kinase. As a channel, it conducts calcium and monovalent cations to depolarize cells and increase intracellular calcium. As a kinase, it is capable of phosphorylating itself and other substrates. The kinase activity is necessary for channel function, as shown by its dependence on intracellular ATP and by the kinase mutants.

Conjugated Peptide
TRPM7 Antibody was produced in mice by repeated immunizations raised against a fusion proteins corresponding to the c-terminus region of mouse TrpM7.
Anti-TRPM7 Antibody was purified by Protein G chromatography. A BLAST analysis was used to suggest cross-reactivity with TRPM7 from Human, Rat, and Mouse based on 100% homology with the immunizing sequence. No cross-reactivity against TrpM6. Cross-reactivity with TRPM7 from other sources has not been determined. Channels and Transporters research.

Application Details

IF, IHC, WB
Anti-TRPM7 Antibody is tested for use in WB (transiently transfected cells only), IHC and IF/ICC microscopy. Expect a band approximately ~220kDa on specific lysates, in extracts of cells transiently transfected with TrpM7. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user.
