Background

TrkB Antibody Tropomyosin-receptor-kinase (TRK) receptors are members of the receptor tyrosine kinase family and include TrkA, TrkB and TrkC. Each of these receptor types has different binding affinities to the neurotrophins nerve growth factor (NGF), brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and neurotrophin 3 (NT-3). TrkB has the highest affinity to binding BDNF which plays critical roles in the function and survival of neurons in the CNS. Additionally, alterations in expression of TrkB have been associated with Alzheimer’s disease. Anti-TrkB Antibody is ideal for investigators involved in Cell Signaling, Neuroscience, Signal Transduction research.

Conjugated Peptide
Anti-TrkB Antibody was produced in rabbit by repeated immunizations with synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acid residues from the C-terminal region of TrkB.
Anti-TrkB antibody is directed against Trk B protein. TrkB antibody was affinity purified from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity purification. This antibody is directed against rat TrkB proteins. Cross reactivity from other sources has not been determined.

Application Details

WB
Anti-Trk B antibody is tested for use in Western Blotting. Expect a band of approximately 93 kDa in size corresponding to TrkB protein in the appropriate cell lysate or extract. Researchers should determine optimal titers for applications that are not stated below.
