Background

The SWI/SNF related matrix associated actin dependent regulator of chromatin subfamily a member 4 (SMARCA4) protein, also known as BRG1, is a member of the SWI/SNF family of proteins and is similar to the brahma protein of Drosophila. Members of this family have helicase and ATPase activities and are thought to regulate transcription of certain genes by altering the chromatin structure around those genes. The encoded protein is part of the large ATP-dependent chromatin remodeling complex SNF/SWI, which is required for transcriptional activation of genes normally repressed by chromatin. In addition, this protein can bind BRCA1, as well as regulate the expression of the tumorigenic protein CD44.

Conjugated Peptide
Anti-SMARCA4 antibody was prepared from whole rabbit serum produced by repeated immunizations with a 19 amino acid peptide near the C-terminus of human SMARCA4.
Anti-SMARCA4 antibody was affinity purified from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity chromatography. SMARCA4 antibody is human, mouse and rat reactive. Multiple isoforms of SMARCA4 are known to exist.

Application Details

ELISA, IF, IHC, WB
Anti-SMARCA4 Antibody has been tested for use in ELISA, Western Blotting, Immunohistochemistry and Immunofluorescence. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user. Expect a band at approximately 185 kDa in Western Blots of specific cell lysates and tissues.
