Background

SETD1A is a component of the SET1 histone methyltransferase (HMT) complex. This complex specifically methylates lysine 4 of histone H3, but only if the neighboring lysine 9 residue is not yet methylated. Methylation of H3K4 represents a specific tag for epigenetic transcriptional activation. SETD1A shows a non-overlapping localization with SETD1B, suggesting that both proteins play a specific role in the epigenetic control of chromatin structure and gene expression. Anti-Setd1a Antibody is ideal for research in Epigenetics and Gene Expression.

Conjugated Peptide
Anti-Setd1a Antibody was produced in rabbits by repeated immunizations with three different synthetic peptides of mouse Setd1a: two containing an amino acid sequence from the N-terminal region of the protein and one containing an amino acid sequence from the internal region of the protein.
Anti-Setd1a Antibody is monospecific antiserum processed by delipidation and defibrination followed by sterile filtration. Cross reactivity with Setd1a from other species not tested.

Application Details

ELISA, WB
Anti-Setd1a Antibody has been tested by ELISA and Western Blots. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user.  Expect a band approximately 186 kDa in the appropriate cell lysate or extract.
