Background

RBPMS (RNA binding protein with multiple splicing), also known as HERMES, contains one RRM (RNA recognition motif) domain and belongs to the RRM family of RNA-binding proteins. RBPMS exists as multiple alternatively spliced isoforms and is thought to bind RNA, possibly playing a role in RNA-related events, such as transcription and translation. RNA-binding proteins that are specific to retinal ganglion cells (RGCs) have been previously identified as excellent markers for RGCs. Recent findings show that antibodies against RBPMS are robust reagents that exclusively identify RGCs in multiple mammalian species. RBPMS Antibody is ideal for researchers interested in neuroscience research.

Conjugated Peptide
Anti-RBPMS Antibody was produced in rabbits by repeated immunizations with a synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acid residues from the N-terminal region of the rat RBPMS sequence conjugated to KLH.
Anti-RBPMS Antibody is directed against rat RBPMS proteins. Anti-RBPMS antibodies are affinity purified from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity purification. Cross reactivity with RBPMS from other species has not been determined, however, the sequence of the immunogen shows 100% identity to canine, human, and hamster therefore, cross reactivity is expected.

Application Details

IHC, WB
Anti-RBPMS Antibody is stored with 0.03% sodium azide. It is tested for Western Blot, immunocytochemistry, and Immunohistochemistry, and it is specific for the ~24 kDa RBPMS protein. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user.
