Background

Anti-PARP antibody detects human PARP. The poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) is involved in cell recovery from DNA damage, such as methylation of N3-adenine, which activates the base excision repair process. PARP [Poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase] is a 116 kDa nuclear chromatin-associated enzyme that is cleaved during apoptosis by caspase-3 into a 24 kDa fragment containing the DNA binding domain and an 89 kDa fragment containing the catalytic and automodification domains. The 24 kDa-fragment irreversibly bind to DNA and may contribute to the irreversibility of apoptosis by blocking the access of DNA repair enzymes to DNA strand breaks. Anti-PARP antibody is ideal for investigators involved in Apoptosis, DNA damage and Repair research.

Conjugated Peptide
PARP Antibody was produced in mice prepared by repeated immunizations with a peptide containing amino acids near the 214/215 cleavage site of human PARP protein.
Anti-PARP Antibody was purified by Protein G chromatography. A BLAST analysis was used to suggest cross-reactivity with Anti-PARP from human based on 100% homology with the immunizing sequence. Cross-reactivity with Anti-PARP from other sources has not been determined.

Application Details

FC, IF, WB
Anti-PARP antibody is tested for use in WB, Flow, Flow-IC, and ICC/IF. Expect a band approximately 89kDa on specific lysates. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user.
