Background

The esophageal cancer-related gene 4 (ECRG4), also known as Augurin, was identified through differential display screening between esophageal cancer and normal tissue. Hypermethylation of CpG sites in the ECRG4 promoter correlate with ECRG4 downregulation in numerous esophageal squamous cell carcinoma tissues.. In transfected cells, overexpression of ECRG4 induced G1 arrest, dephosphorylation of Rb and decreased expression of cyclins D1 and D3. Increased expression of ECRG4 in aged mouse brain is observed compared with young mouse brain. The increased ECRG4 level was accompanied by elevated senescence-associated acidic beta-galactosidase activity, suggesting that ECRG4 is involved in cellular differentiation and senescence.

Conjugated Peptide
Anti-ECRG4 antibody was prepared from whole rabbit serum produced by repeated immunizations with a 20 amino acid synthetic peptide near the C-terminus of human ECRG4.
Anti-ECRG4 Antibody was affinity purified from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity chromatography. ECRG4 antibody is predicted to not cross-react with other ECRG family members.

Application Details

ELISA, IHC, WB
Anti-ECRG4 Antibody has been tested for use in ELISA, Western Blotting, Immunocytochemistry. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user. Expect a band at approximately 17 kDa in Western Blots of specific cell lysates and tissues.
