Description

Background

WWP2 or WW domain containing E3 ubiquitin protein ligase 2 is a member of the Nedd4 family of E3 ligases, which play an important role in protein ubiquitination. WWP2 contains four WW domains and may play a role in multiple processes including chondrogenesis and the regulation of oncogenic signaling pathways via interactions with Smad proteins and the tumor suppressor PTEN. WWP2 is an E3 ubiquitin ligase that targets transcription factor Oct-4 for ubiquitination (1). WWP2 which is also called AIP2 can bind to atrophin-1 (2). WWP2 Protein is ideal for investigators involved in Signaling Proteins, Ubiquitin Proteins, Cancer, Cardiovascular Disease, and Cell Cycle research.

Application Note

WWP2 Protein is stored in 50mM Tris-HCl, pH 7.5, 50mM NaCl, 10mM glutathione, 0.1mM EDTA, 0.25mM DTT, 0.1mM PMSF, 25% glycerol. WWP2 Protein is suitable for use in Western Blot. Expect a band approximately ~130kDa on specific lysates or tissues. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user.

Purity/Specificity

Recombinant full-length human WWP2 was expressed by baculovirus in Sf9 insect cells using an N-terminal Glutathione-S-Transferase fusion protein. The purity was determined to be >90% by densitometry.
