SUMO1 (also known as UBL1) is a member of the SUMO (small ubiquitin-like modifier) protein family which functions in a manner similar to ubiquitin. SUMO1 is bound to target proteins as part of a post-translational modification system and it is involved in a variety of cellular processes, such as nuclear transport, transcriptional regulation, apoptosis, and protein stability (1). SUMO1 may be involved in the repair of TOP1-mediated DNA damage (2). The sumoylation pathway plays a significant role in mammalian DNA damage response. SUMO1 Protein is ideal for investigators involved in Signaling Proteins, Ubiquitin Proteins, Apoptosis/Autophagy, Cell Cycle, and NfkB Pathway research.

Application Note

SUMO1 Protein is stored in 50mM sodium phosphate, pH 7.0, 300mM NaCl, 150mM imidazole, 0.1mM PMSF, 0.25mM DTT, 25% glycerol. SUMO1 Protein is suitable for use in Western Blot. Expect a band approximately ~19kDa on specific lysates or tissues. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user.

Recombinant human SUMO1 (UBL1) (2-97) was expressed in E. coli using an N-Terminal his epitope. The purity was determined to be >90% by densitometry.
