Background

PIK3C2B or phosphatidylinositol-4-phosphate 3-kinase, catalytic subunit type 2 beta belongs to the phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K) family. PIK3C2B plays a role in signaling pathways involved in cell proliferation, oncogenic transformation, cell survival, cell migration, and intracellular protein trafficking. PIK3C2B is highly expressed in thymus and placenta and it may function in a calcium-independent manner (1). In cell signaling, PIK3C2B stabilizes nucleotide-free Ras and the interaction of Ras and PI3KC2 beta mutually inhibits one another activity (2). Application Details

Application Note: PIK3C2B Protein is stored in 50mM Tris-HCl, pH 7.5, 50mM NaCl, 10mM glutathione, 0.1mM EDTA, 0.25mM DTT, 0.1mM PMSF, 25% glycerol. PIK3C2B Protein is suitable for use in Western Blot. Expect a band approximately ~98kDa on specific lysates or tissues. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user.
