Description

Background

Cofilin 1 (non-muscle), also known as CFL1, is a widely distributed intracellular actin-modulating protein that binds and depolymerizes filamentous F-actin and inhibits the polymerization of monomeric G-actin in a pH-dependent manner (1). It is involved in the translocation of actin-cofilin complex from cytoplasm to nucleus (2). CFL1 processed proteins are most probably produced by HIV-1 protease digestion. Cofilin 1 Protein is ideal for investigators involved in Signaling Proteins, Microtubule/Actin Associated Proteins, Cancer, Cardiovascular Disease, Invasion/Metastasis, and Neurobiology research.

Application Note

Cofilin 1 Protein is stored in 50mM Tris-HCl, pH 7.5, 150mM NaCl, 0.25mM DTT, 0.1mM EGTA, 0.1mM EDTA, 0.1mM PMSF, 25% glycerol. Cofilin 1 Protein is suitable for use in Western Blot. Expect a band approximately ~ 23kDa on specific lysates or tissues. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user.

Purity/Specificity

Recombinant full-length human Cofilin 1 was expressed in E. coli cells using an N-Terminal his epitope. The purity was determined to be >95% by densitometry.
