Anti-Idiotypic Antibodies

Conduct critical therapeutic antibody development assays with confidence when you rely on Rockland for anti-idiotype antibody generation.

We’ve been providing custom anti-idiotype antibodies to biopharma companies for over 25 years, and are ready to leverage these decades of experience to customize an anti-idiotype antibody generation project to advance your therapeutic development project, whether you need polyclonals or hybridoma-based monoclonals.

Our Anti-idiotype Antibody Generation Process

Our experienced team of scientists can create type I, type II, and type III (Figure 1) anti-idiotype antibodies for your project using any of the many species we house in our facility, including rabbit, mouse, rat, goat, chicken, and more.

Each anti-idiotype antibody generation project is divided into three phases, which vary depending on whether you need polyclonals or hybridoma-based monoclonals.

Types of Anti-ID Antibodies

Type I

Inhibitory / neutralizing
+
Detects free antibody drug

Type II
Not inhibitory
+
Detects total antibody drug (free, partially bound, fully bound)
Type III
Antibody drug-target complex specific
+
Detects bound antibody drug only

Anti-ID Polyclonal Generation

A typical anti-ID polyclonal project will follow our general polyclonal generation workflow starting from the antibody development step, if you provide the therapeutic antibody target (note that we can also generate the target antibody as part of a larger project—visit either our Custom Polyclonal Antibodies page or the Custom Monoclonal Antibodies page to learn more).

Polyclonal Antibody Development

During polyclonal antibody development, we immunize based on the schedule you request and can recommend an adjuvant to achieve your project goals. We provide a pre-bleed serum (5 mL) for screening in your labs and can also use our experience and monitoring of the antibody-mediated immune response to make recommendations prior to the collection of production bleeds.

Upon conclusion of the applied protocol, you are presented with the option of collecting a terminal bleed (this only applies to rabbits) or by extending your study for the collection of additional bleeds on a monthly basis.

Polyclonal Antibody Purification

After antibody development, we can use a number of different methods to purify your polyclonal antibodies.

  • Protein A purification
  • Protein G purification
  • Protein A/G purification
  • Affinity purification
  • IgG purification
  • IgY purification

Polyclonal Antibody Conjugation

We provide a wide array of customizable conjugation services to meet specific assay and reagent needs.

Conjugates include the following:

  • Biotin
  • Horseradish peroxidase (HRP)
  • Alkaline phosphatase
  • Fluorochrome/dyes

Anti-ID Hybridoma-based Monoclonal Generation

A typical anti-ID monoclonal project will follow our general monoclonal generation workflow starting from the antibody development step if you provide the therapeutic antibody target. We can also generate the target antibody as part of a larger project. Visit either our Custom Polyclonal Antibodies page or the Custom Monoclonal Antibodies page to learn more. In addition, antibodies-online.com offers a wide range of research-grade Biosimilar Monoclonal Antibodies as a simple solution.
